First I would like to get rid of all those preconceived ideas that PC gaming is: Expensive and complicated. These are both untrue and mostly based on facts from the 1900's.
PC Gaming is Expensive
This is a fact commonly thrown around when people first heard the words "Pc Gaming". IF you look at the picture below you can see a modest pc (can play most games at decent frames) Is about $100 more then a console (controllers included).
So if you take your old pc which you most likely use for work and sell it you will end up with a fast work pc and gaming pc.
PC gaming is complicated
This myth comes from the old times of DOS. DOS was basically just words in which you typed to get to places. In this time there was no need for a mouse unless you played games otherwise everything was typed.
Example of a DOS OS (similar to windows cmd)
As you could imagine this was a very boring operating system and also very complicated and also required you to memorize commands. But the bigger complication was that games were required to be installed manually. So you would have to sit there typing out commands to copy files over to your PC. If you made a mistake chances are you wouldn't know until you tried to start the game.
Installing Call of Duty Black Ops through steam
Today PC gaming has come along way. Now we just press next and the hard work is done for us. Now we just click instead of type. Today PC gaming is simple.
I'm play both PC and console games. Though I'll admit I've wasted probably the most time with Neverwinter Nights, messing around with the toolset.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed expensive...
ReplyDeleteI've never owned a PC game - always stick to my trusty PS2. IF I were to start, what gams would you recommend?
ReplyDeleteI haven't played console games in years really, straight up PC gamer.
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is F2P PC games against F2P console games (if there really are such things). If you miss PC Gaming, you have missed a lot.
ReplyDeletegood info man
ReplyDeletePCs are more expensive but massively more versatile with multimedia and communication. Worth it imo.
ReplyDeleteExpensive yes. However, PCs can do so much more than a console can. Plus, they're always upgradeable, whereas consoles are stuck with their respective generations. I started out a PC gamer and I probably will always remain as one
ReplyDeleteFor those who are wondering what games to get for PC, My Mondays blog will be about LOL.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Following and added :D
ReplyDeleteyou may be a pc gamer but give consoles a try the controls are just so much better. for fps's and fighting games
ReplyDeletethe problem with a pc game for me is the worry that my pc will run it poorly I quite enjoy the no hassle same for everyone console set up.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to have a decent pc though the money is still a huge factor for me
